Is It Normal To Get Migraine After Eating Sugar Or Sodium?

I m having migraines that seem to me like they are because I eat really crappy food if I eat a strictly vegetarian diet I stop having them but as soon as I eat something high in sugar or sodium I immediately start having migraines again is this normal?

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and the fact that your headaches are brought on by eating something high in sugar or salt.

Migraine headache episodes are known to get aggravated with various types of foods, such as Chinese food, too much coffee, chocolates, soft drinks, etc.

Also, fasting or delayed meals can aggravate migraine episodes.

Preventive medications such as topiramate or valproate could reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches.
