Is It Normal To Have An Involuntary Hand Movement ?
I thought I heard heavy breathing right close to me but I was not breathing heavy Is it possible that I was hearing some whooshing sound in my ears I am a very healthy (or so I think) 42 yr old female. I had a very strange experience several days ago. I was doing laundry and noticed an arm waving beside my head ...thinking it was my 8 yr old daughter playing with me I looked back to talk to her and there was no one there. I noticed the arm had a pink long sleeve and then thought I have pink long sleeves . I finally realized that the arm moving by my head in a forward swimming like motion was my own arm. Frightened, I put my left arm on my right to hold it down by my side. I then noticed this very heavy breathing that felt so close....so close that I looked down to make sure it wasn t me breathing like that. It was so real that I was afraid to look behind me for fear someone was there. I then looked out of the laundry room to see where the dog was to make sure she wasn t the one breathing heavy. I walked to the bathroom where my children were feeling funny . I remember assessing the situation in like slow motion..or so it felt like. I was shaky for a few hours and my upper lip felt a little tingly. My deltoid muscle was also a little tight and tense after the incident. I have since seen my PCP. I have had some blood drawn and had an ECG . I am also scheduled for a carotid study, a stress scho and a head CT. I may possibly end up with and MRA too. My Doctor is ruling out syncope and TIA s. I do suffer from occasional migraines and wonder about silent migraines. Could the heavy breathing that I thought I heard actually be from the sound of blood rushing to my head? I am puzzled about the involuntary arm movement? Any suggestions?
Hello.
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
Such kind of hallucinations are common due to mental tension. If all your investigation reports come normal which are most likely to be then it is better to consult your psychiatrist or a psychoanalyst. They will guide you better.

I too wondered about stress as we/I have been under a lot of stress lately. I sometimes wonder if I don't deal with a little depression. I feel that I will undergo all these medical tests and they will show nothing. I have never had any type of mental illness or psychosis nor has anyone in my family. I can't believe that a situation that was so real...so real that I remember looking around and thinking and assessing the situation in what felt like slow motion is a all a hallucination. I guess time will tell.
