Is It Normal To Have Chills And Purplish Color To A 4 Year Old While Having Fever?

My four hear old son came down with a fever today. His cousin is just getting over a virus so I am assuming that is where he picked it up. His fever is around 100.8 right now. And he had be fine other then the fever. Now all of a sudden he has terrible chills and his hands are like ice. I also notice a purplish tint to his extremities with goose bumps. Should I rush to the ER or is this normal occurrence with fever?

HI
Cyanosis of extremities is common with illness & cold in children. chill is due to the body reaction towards infection & it tune in raising temprature.
You should continue with the medicines prescribed by your doctor ,keep baby protected from exposure to cold
usually it lasts till infection control- about a couple of days. In case it lasts longer/ other parts of body gets blue it's advisable to consult paediatritian to exclude certain conditions.
Thanks
