Is It Normal To Have Hot Flashes And Sleep Disturbances After Having A Subtotal Hysterectomy?

AM 49 AND HAD A SUBTOTAL HYSTERECTOMY 5 MONTHS AGO, KEPT CERCIX AND OVARIES. A MONTH OR 2 AGO I HAD MINIMAL HOT FLASHES AND SLEEP DISTURBANCES. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO THE HOT FLASHES STOPPED, AND I AWAKE LESS OFTEN. COULD THIS END OF SYMPTOMS BE THE END OF SYMPTOMS? OR SINCE I THINK I AM STILL OVULATING, HAVE I NOT HAD MENOPAUSE AND WILL I STILL GO THROUGH HOT FLASHES AT A LATER TIME?

Hi. Your are 49 and no one can really know the age at which you will have menopause ( nothing to do with hysterectomy as a procedure) This is related to ovarian function. The hot flashes and sleep disturbances can be due to nearing menopause and may continue . You can consult the Gynecologist if you continue to have them.
