Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Normal To Have Low Blood Pressure After Bypass Surgery?
I had triple bypass surgery 13 days ago and my blood pressure is low eg,100/69. My doctor is not too concerned but has taken me off the blood pressure medicine-tritace. Is this normal for the recovery process and will my blood pressure eventually return to normal/
Your blood pressure is within normal range. So please don't worry. Try to concentrate on your recovery. Also since your doctor has advised you to stop taking anti-hypertension drug, your blood pressure will increase. Blood pressure in same individual varies at different time of the day and based on level of activity. Also during recovery it is common to have blood pressure on the lower side.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Wish you speedy recovery.
