Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Normal To Have Stomach Upset After Having Old Tiramisu?
I am 14 weeks pregnant. I ate Tiramisu which is 8-9 days old. It happened almost two days back. I experienced mild stomach pains and a temperature at 98.6 on that day. And i still feel some kind of gas/bloating sensation in my stomach and my motion is also not that okay. Please help.
It appears to me that intake of a relatively stale food item has caused the symptoms. If the bloating and constipation are not relieved in the next 1-2 days, you may consider taking some short-term medication from a local clinician for the same. I suggest Tablet Pantoprazole 40mg and Domperidone 10mg every day. Take small frequent meals and drink enough water.
Do not worry about the fever until it crosses 100 degree F. Symptoms of severe vomiting, diarrhoea or high grade fever are the 'red-flags', in which case you might need higher medication (antibiotics)from your doctor.
Do not worry about the baby, unless you get very dehydrated and weak or there is any complaint of bleeding, lower abdominal pain or less movements of the baby. To allay your worry about this, you may get your USG sonography scan done once you start feeling better.
I hope i have answered your question. Happy to help in case of more queries.
