Is It Normal To Have Vagus Nerve Cut During Nissen Surgery?

I am trying to find answer to how many people suffer from having nissen surgey. During surgery my vagus nerve was cut. Is this normal ? I have lost a 140 lbs. I have dummpin sydropme. I am on a feeding tube for 12 hours every night for the rest of my life.

Hello,

It is possible that vagus nerve injury up to 19% of patients in antireflux surgery.

It has be diagnosed by symptomatology and investigation. It may be treated with antiemetic medication with prokinetic agents along with it gastric electrical stimulation may useful.

Please consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
