Is It Normal To Prescribe Troputon Depo By Stopping Susten For A Short Cervix ?
During a anamoly scan at around 20th weeks by wife has been detected with short cervix (length 2.2 cm with no funnelling), so the Doctor prescriber her susten 200 mg per day. Now we have moved to another city for delivery and the recent growth scan(31st week) has shown that the cervic length is still 2.2 cm with a funneling noted in the 1 cm area with pressure. So the new Doctor has advised to stop sustem and instead take troputon depot injection every week. Also she ws advised for complete bed rest. Do you think this line of treatment is OK, does this medicine help anyway?

short cervix, the treatment is a cervical stich. ur wife.'s length is lower limit of normal may be that s why ur previous doc has tried medical management and it has luckily worked well for u.now at this point of 31 was neither tab nor I jection has only equivocal role and no point in doin a stich now. what needs to be done is
1. take two doses of steroid injections for the lung maturity of the baby I case pre term labour happen
2. avoid exertion, give her a little more rest complete bed rest is not neede but she should defenitely avoid strenuous work long hrs of standing lifting weights and straining at stools or coughing
3.attach ur self to a hospital with good neonatal care system
