HI there, Dr Samuel, I am in Australia. I have had a cervical polyp extraction under a general anesthesia on the 12 December 2013 it is now 7 weeks and although it has been a week that most of the bleeding has stopped. I still get bleeding after intercourse and it is bleeding like small clots and that's it.. it stops after that until the next time I have sex. and it does not come immediately. it comes the next day. is this normal? and how long does it take to completely clear? I am also seeing a specialist to have a second child and I need to have IUI will this stop my plans? can I still continue that? your assistance is greatly appreciated
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. Having a mild bleeding after sex is not normal 7 weeks after the removal of the polyp. It is best to let the bleeding stop completely before going for IUI. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
