Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
There are a number of aspects here.
Having conceived after 8 years of
pregnancy, this is a precious pregnancy.
No effort should be spared in its management.
First, the
blood group incompatibility.
She is
Rh negative and you are Rh positive.
ICT ( indirect
coombs test ) should be done every 4 weeks.
Next, at 28 weeks of pregnancy, there is no question of Betnesol unless there is a risk of preterm labour.
Does she have cramps / pain / spotting / cervical dilatation or looseness seen on
ultrasound ?
Betnesol is a steroid, given to enhance the lung maturity in babies who are at a risk of being born preterm, that is before 37 weeks.
A single dose of 3 ampoules each 12 hours apart ( totally 6 ampoules ) is prescribed.
There is no point and no need to repeat this every week.
Only if there are chances of preterm labour, should this injection be taken in the dose as described by me.
