Is It Safe To Take Dip In Case Of Canker Sore?

hello, I was reading online that if you have a kanker sore (which I do) on the bottom of my gums under my teeth in the front middle of the mouth, then to get it to go away normally it is good to stay away from acidic stuff (i.e. drinks, and food). So I was wondering, since I cant eat many things that I normally eat because they are acidic, I was just going to dip and I wanted to know how acidic dip is. (I realize that it is bad for you so please dont lecture me on that)

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you have a canker sore over the gums then it is better not to dip tobacco as the juices released from the dip will lead to further irritation and increase in inflammation of the ulcer and will cause pain and increase in time of its outbreak.
As you want to know the acidic nature of Nicotine, many of the products are acidic in nature and will cause irritation..

So I would suggest you to avoid dipping as not only you have ulcer but tobacco can cause oral cancer t the site of dipping..

As of now do soda bicarb gargles.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen.
If there is pain a numbing gel containing Lignocaine can be applied..
Take a multivitamin tablet daily..
Avoid hot and spicy food.
Drink plenty of water.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
