Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just arrived Cameroon and yesterday, I ate a pizza for lunch. shortly after, severe stomach pains started. My driver went to pharmacy and they gave him intetrix. I take larium for malaria prevention, aspirins, omeprazol 25mg for acid reflux, and Exforge 5mg for blood pressure. Is it okay to take this medicine as prescribe 2x in morning 2x in evening for 3 days
I am so sorry to hear about this embarrassing situation that happened in Cameroon(my Country)! The dosage and duration of treatment is okay for the treatment of amoebiasis. However, I do not really think these symptoms were caused a germ seen the rapid onset. This would have most likely represented food intolerance rather than infection by a germ present in the food. Welcome home and watch out what you eat and where you eat.
I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
