Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM. Subcision is a very good procedure for acne scars, where with help a needle fibres beneath the scar are ruptured and thus new collegen producion is iniated. It produces good results in some deep boxcar and ice pick scars which are very difficult to treat. Subcision works best when combined with another procedure called microneedling done with a instrument called dermaroller . Usually i initially do subcision followed by dermaroller in the same sitting. Ususally 3-4 sittings are sufficient but varies from individual to individual. Make sure you are getting it done by properly qualified and trained dermatologist as its a skillful procedure and if you are having active acne wait till complete resolution, otherwise it may lead to flare up.
