Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The headache with difficulty in focusing eyes, amnesia (memory loss) for accident can occur after concussion. Concussion is managed by bed rest and painkillers like Diclofenac sodium.

We have to rule out dangerous head injury also. There are few signs which suggest it like

: vomiting
: bleed through nose, ear or throat
: fits
: persistent headache not responding to painkillers
: loss of consciousness for more than 5 minutes
: decreasing consciousness
: onset of new focal deficit

If you find any of above sign in him, consult ER as soon as possible. The doctor will advise CT head to rule out fracture or bleed. The fracture is usually managed by conservative treatment while bleed may require surgery.

If there is no above sign, you can wait at home. He can sleep or do rest. For relief, you can follow fe tips

: Apply icepacks at injury site
: Keep his head at higher level than chest
: You can give him painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.
: If still no relief, you should consult doctor.

Hope it will help you. Thanks.

Take care.
