Is Long Distance Travel Recommended During Pregnancy?

I have been diagnosed with posterior low lying placenta (3cm above cervix) during my 20th week ultrasound. Now I am my 23rd week. I have a plan of traveling by train for 8 hours in my 25th week and travel 32hours by train on my 28th week. I have not gained any weight during my pregnancy rather lost 7kg in first trimester and 3 kg in 20th week. is it safe to travel that long?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion any long journey is restricted to 2nd trimester in case of normal pregnancy with no complications. But as you have low lying placenta it is better to avoid the long journey. But i suggest you to repeat the ultrasound to see for any upper mobilisation of placenta which usually occurs in 90% of cases. If the ultrasound is normal then you can go on with the journey.Take adequate rest and adequate fluids.
