General & Family Physician Dr. Gautam Das's  Response
Hi. Welcome to HealthcareMagic. You fasting sugar is definately high even after medications. This means that you are either not adhering to the diet and lifestyle suggested by your doctor or maybe you would need a dose adjustment. Diabetes is a progressive disease and it will not suffice to get your medications prescribes once and follow them for a long time. you need to visit your doctor regularly to maintain your sugar levels in physiological norms. Even though LDL levels are desired to be <100, your levels of 111 are near optimal. Total cholestrol levels <200 are desirable, and your's are nearing the borderline. HDL 46 is good and desirable. So your lipid profile is more or less ok, but since you have diabetes you would need to keep you LDL preferably <100 and also keep your sugar under control ( Fasting<100). You would need to consult your doctor to start a statin. Take care
