Is My Son Having Infection In His Eye From The Strep Throat He Is Suffering?

Hi-my 7 year old son was diagnosed yesterday with strep throat...he is having a 101.5 fever vomited yesterday was having severe headache and now for past 2 days has had a red right eye. Would the red eye be from infection from strep? He is on an antibiotic.

Hello
It seems from the history that your 7 year old son is having throat infection with streptococci.
Since he is having red eye also it is most probably acute conjunctivitis because of spread of infection from throat.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops along with treatment of sore throat by antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs.
