My Son is 18 months old and has discomfort in his ear and keeps rubbing his ears. We got the Tymponomety test done for him and the result says " B/C 'C' type tymponogram". A doctor prescribed 'nasivion mini nasal drops, 2 drops each nostril twice a day for 5 days'. He has mild runny nose. no fever. He has a history of getting ear pain if the cold persists for a week. As a mother, I am little worried and wondering why a nasal drop was prescribed for an ear problem. Please help me clear my worry or ignorance.
The nose drops are a correct prescription and you should continue them. Type B tympanogram suggests that there is fluid inside the ear and this can only be drained through the eustachian tube which is a tube connecting the ear and nose!please continue the drops ans your baby will do fine! thanks
