Is Prednisone The Only Solution For Vasculitis In The Eye Which Has Many Side Effects?
My brother has suffered from vasculitis of the left eye for 17 years now and now has very little vision in that eye. He has been under Doctor and Specialist care over this period with regular hospital appointments. It seems the only way they know how to treat this condition is with doses of Prednisone and the side effects are many. He is keen to try some natural therapies and I would like to know what you would recommend in this case. Thank you for your feedback.
Hello It seems from the history that your brother is suffering from vasculitis for the last 17 years. Vasculitis is inflammation of the vessels of the retina. The treatment of the vasculitis is by using antiinflammatory drugs. The steroids like prednisonole being the potent antiinflammatory drugs are the usual drugs of choice. However if they are causing anyside effect, they can be replaced by steroid sparing drugs.
Hence I advice to consult your doctor for further advice regarding steroid sparing drugs.
THANK YOU
