My mother had a break out of moles then later we found she had lung cancer. Her dermatologist called it Lestat-teslar??" I was named by a couple of French doctors who discovered the link between cancer in the body and this resultant "rash" of moles. What is the name? I noticed a similar pattern on my neck this morning.
Hi. The sign you have mentioned is called Leser-Trelat sign. It is the explosive eruption of multiple seborrheic keratosis. It looks like pigmented skin lesions with an inflammatory base. It has been linked to an internal malignancy as a paraneoplastic syndrome. Seborrheic keratosis can also occur in individuals without malignancy and is common in elderly. A history, physical examination and then relevant investigations to rule out an internal malignancy is required. The sign is linked with adenocarcinoma of stomach & colon, squamous cell carcinoma, lymphoma and leukemia in decreasing order of frequency. I would suggest that you see a doctor and discuss it with him/her. If you have any further queries I will be more than happy to answer. Thankyou for choosing Healthcare Magic.
