I had an endometrial Biopsy Yesterday afternoon. It was the 2nd day of my Menstrual Cycle, which usually I bleed pretty heavy. I have stopped bleeding, which I thought was odd, and I am having an extreme amount of pain in my mid-left side of my back. I have taken Vicodin and Motrin and pain is still severe. Is this common after this procedure?
Hi, After any procedure on the cervix and the uterus, some amount of pain may be experienced as the nerve endings are irritated when the tissues are held with instruments during the procedure. This is usually seen for a day or two after the procedure and the intensity may vary from person to person based on the pain sensitivity. If you have persistent pain in spite of medication, you should consult your doctor and see if there is any organic damage consequent to the procedure. Hope this helps.
