According to your description the possibilities are: - If you have mentioned about the opening of vaginal canal that is at the level of labia minora there is a possibility of bartholin cyst, which develops due to the blockage of the Bartholin gland duct. It usually appears as a soft mass filled with fluid. If it becomes infected that can form an abscess. - If you are mentioning above the vaginal opening that could be a Gartner's duct cyst or inclusion cyst due to local previous injury.
The consistency of the cervix will usually be a little firmer and it will not be like bulb type unless there is any polyp from the cervix. By clinical examination only the exact cause of the mass can be made out. As you have decided to visit the gynecologist, at that time the possible diagnosis can be made and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
