Is Surgery Required According To The X Ray Report?
I have a knee problem. Xray report says:increase in patello-femoral joint spaces with marginal sclerosis noted. No evidence of fracture.
Another report says: severe reduction of medial and patello-femoral joint spaces seen. Osteophytes are noted. No evidence of fracture. Remarks: osteo arthritis of knee.
I am suggested: Complete knee replacement surgery.
Is dorctor's advice ok. Is surgery required? Please help me.
You are having degenerative changes in the knee joints due to advancing age. Total knee replacement surgery is a choice you may may to improve your quality of life at age 74 years. It is more of a functional and locomotion mobility that needs to be addressed. The changes are described as severe and surgery must be decided upon keeping in mind the difficulties you are facing at the moment.
