Is Swelling Of Hands And Fingers With Fever Due To Chronic Constipation Contagious?

I took a friend of mine to the hospital yest. Due to severe constapation. she hasnt went in a couple of weeks. so, she has a fever major swelling in both hands and fingers. Knee caps are huge so are her feet. She cant hardly walk at all. Ive been taking care of her cleaning her,changing her, BUt worst of all she has a fever. so, i slept in the same room as her and all of a suddenI started pooping like her and I have a fever.. The doctors gave her antibiotics. SO, my question is can I catch it becuase I feel the same way except im not constapate. PLEASE HELP ME IM VERY WORRIED

Constipation can never cause fever. So she must be having some infection like in chest or in urine or in blood. If you can mention her disease than I can better tell about you getting that disease. Any way wear a mask and avoid using same utensils. Wash your hand after cleaning her bed sheets etc. You can contact her treating doctor also to suggest you if you need any preventive vaccine or antibiotics. You are doing a good job.
