Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Swelling of limbs in a heart patient should be considered serious and get evaluated. This could be edema due to poor functioning of heart pump.
The signs of poor functioning of heart can be breathlessness , breathlessness on walking , chest pain , cough ,& / or swelling of limbs , dizziness .
I hope you have taken measure to see the doctor and get a water pill prescribed if needed.
Hope this information is useful to you and others.
Wish your father good health.
Take care
