Is Taking Bifilac Cap Harmful To The Baby During Pregnancy?
Hello Doctor, My wife is pregnant for 15 weeks. She is 35 yrs old. Since last 3-4 days she is suffering from loose motion and related irritable bowl syndrom. One of our family physician suggested to take bifilac cap and furoxne(furazolidone) tab. Is the intake of this medicine is harmful for foetus?
Though, till date no study has been done on Furazolidine about its effect on the fetus, if used during pregnancy in human being. However, studies in animals have shown no harmful effect of Furazolidine on fetus. Therefore, Furazolidine, may be considered a safe drug, if used in pregnancy as far as its teratogenic effects are concerned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
