General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Although hormonal pills can cause abnormal bleeding, other causes of irregular periods should be ruled out. The cause of irregular periods such as polycystic ovaries, obesity and hypothyroidism should be treated effectively.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
