Is Taking Statin Recommended For My Cholesterol Level?
I am 61 yrs. old and weigh 168. My mother had heart disease after 75 years of age and my oldest brother just died of a heart attack at the age of 76. My cholesterol total is 224, hdl is 60, triglycerides is 158, and ldl cholesterol is 132. The CHOL/Hdlc ratio is 3.7. Should I be taking a statin?
Hi, I would advise you first to try diet and exercise. You should avoid animal fat and exercise much. If after 6 months you have high cholesterol, then you may think of statin.
Wish you good health
