Is Tetanus Shot Necessary After Getting Injured By A Rusty Wire?
My husband got poked by a piece of rusty barbed wire in the foot through his shoe. It didn't go in too deep due to the shoe absorbing some of the wire but he does have a small piercing by his big toe. Should he get a tetanus shot? Should we soak the foot in peroxide?
Clostridium tetani spores can be found most commonly in soil, dust and manure, but also exist virtually anywhere. If deposited in a wound it causes tetanus
