Is The Mirena Coil In The Correct Position?

Hi I had a Mirena contraceptive coil inserted two years ago. Since then my periods have stopped altogether. However, last night I started spotting. So this morning I checked the for the strings in the shower to make sure that it was still in place.......it feels like there is more string hanging out than there have been on other occassions that I've checked. Should I be worried?

Hi,

Nothing to worry. Mirena causes periods to stop and sometimes it may also cause spotting, so nothing to worry. For the doubt that Mirena is out kindly visit a gynecologist, they can do your examination and check whether your Mirena is in place or not. We can also check it by many methods, safest being ultrasound.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
