Is The Following Blood Test Normal?

my father age is 55 years . his serum cholesterol level is 197 mg,serum triglycerides level is 249 mg, serum HDL cholestrol level is 54 mg, serum LDL level is 94mg, serum VLDL cholestrol 49mg .Is everything ok or what precaution we have to take in his health

There is elevated serum triglycerides and VLDL. The patient need to take advice from a cardiologist for appropriate medication to control the cholesterol level.

S. Cholesterol should be below 200 mg/dl
LDL should be HDL should be more than 50 mg/dl and ideally more than 60 mg/dl
S. Triglycerides should be below 200 mg/dl
VLDL should be

Light exercise and diet modifications also help a lot to control the cholesterol levels.
Avoiding smoking, avoiding oily food stuffs, less salty diet, avoiding packed foods will help the patient.
Atlas two portions of fish per week in diet help to increase HDL levels in blood which is a good cholesterol.
