Is The Ventricular Hypertrophy And Repolarization Be Treated?
hi, my father got an ecg done after severe chest pain which showed the following- sinus rhythm with 1st degree AV block left axis deviation left ventricular hypertrophy with qrs widening and repolarization abnormality. i just wanted to know if he can be treated with medicines only or angioplasty is required...pls suggest me the better option... thanks
There is no specific treatment for above mentioned conditions. The underlying cause should be treated. For that your father need more examination to find out what has lead to ECG abnormalities. If he had chest pain, then angiography is needed to rule out coronary artery disease. There is a need for echocardiography as ECG alone is not enough sensitive to detect left ventricular hypertrophy. Also he need blood pressure monitoring and blood tests.
Hope I could help you
