Is There A Correlation Between Arthritis And Hormones?
Hi I have RA and had it for ten years now, I have stopped taking the pill not to have more children but because I want to stop taking it been on it about 16 years, have been told that maybe my arthritis has something to do with hormones as when I had my second child I had 9months of no pain, surly there has to be a link?
Hi, I have gone through your question. Thank you for asking in Healthcare Magic.
You jave not mentioned which hormonal imbalnce you are sufferrimg from. Rheumatoid arthritis and hormonal imbalance have some associations. During pregnancy, hormonal levels increase in our body specially steroid hormones so they lead to immunosuppression, i.e. one's immune system is suppressed so patients with diseases like RA (which is immune mediated) do not have symptoms during that period. Hope my answer will help you. Regards, Dr. Maria Daud
