Is There A Cure For Primary Amyloidosis?
Sir my father aged 48 is suffering from primary amyloidosis ..detected in dec 2013 ...but has been sick with symptoms from past 2 years ....his kidney and heart are ok but gastro system is damaged ..diarrhoea is consist for past 2 years .....has lost 25 kg weight .....is there ant cure for him..kindly help us...

Primary amyloidosis is most commonly associated with multiple myeloma.
Thus, certain investigations are required to look for multiple myeloma.
Serum electrophoresis and urine electrophoresis are two investigations which will determine the status of proteins in blood and urine.
Additionally, a CT scan of the spine is also required to look for evidence of multiple myeloma.
Primary amyloidosis improves with improvement of associated condition i.e. multiple myeloma.
Consult your physician for clinical assessment and relevant invesytigations.
