Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This MRI Report?
My MRI report stated mild increased signal is noted at the posterior horn of the medial meniscus with extension to the articular surface, compatible with myxoid degeneration. The lateral meniscus show normal size, shape and intensity. No definite meniscal tear is detected. No meniscal cyst is noted.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Knee joint shows presence of circular cartilage. These cartilage act as shock absorbers and increase the depth of socket wherein the femoral heads fits. Injury or trauma to the knee joints can cause tear in the meniscal cartilages. The MRI report of the knee joint is showing presence of degeneration of the posterior horn of one of the menisci. Degeneration can be age related, injury or trauma. However, there is no evidence of tear. You need to consult your orthopedician for further management.
