Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This Report?

Hi, I just receive my right knee MRI. These are the finding: Fluid collection and soft tissues. Moderate joint infusion. Tiny Baker s cryst. No discrete bursitis. Small oblique tear peripheral mid zone of the medial meniscus. Media meniscus is partially extruded peripherally from the joint space. Chondromalacia involving the hyaline cartilage in the medial compartment. Can please you tell me do I need to have a surgery? How bad my knee is base on the MRI result? How the Dr goes about doing the surgery? Thanks

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of MRI of the right knee:
There is seffusion of fluid in the right joint. Effusion refers to collection of fluid in the joint cavity.
A small cyst is present in the joint cavity. A cyst is a sac like structure in the joint space. Cyst in the joint space are benign and asymptomatic.
The medial meniscus cartilage is damaged and there is a tear in this cartilage.
Due to this tear the torn medial meniscus is displaced from its place.
Medial meniscus is made up of cartilage and is avascular.
Avascularity of the cartilage makes it less liable to repair.
Thus, management of torn cartilage is surgical wherein the damaged or torn cartilage is removed.
Chondromalacia refers to degenerative changes in the cartilage of the medial compartment of the knee joint.

You need to consult an orthopedician for further management.
Surgery may be required.

Thanks and take care
