Is There Any Remedy To Alleviate Pain In Knee Due To Arthritis Without Pain Killers?

I have severe arthritis in both knees. The x-rays show equal amount of damage. However only my left knee pains when I walk for any distance. Is there anything I can do to mitigate the pain. I have avoided analgesics for the last few years and would like to continue to do so as long as possible. I do leg presses at the gym - usually 300 to 50 pounds which mitigate the discomfort for a few hours but then it comes back. Please don t give me any grief. Jim Cunnie
