Is Two Capsules Of Tetralysal 300mg Daily The Right Treatment For Acne?
Hi, I've started a treatment of Tetralysal 300mg capsules for my mild acne. My doctor has prescribed that I take 2 capsules a day, once in the morning and once at night. The leaflet that comes with the capsules states that for acne, 1 capsule a day is normal. 2 is used for 'infections'. I'm expecting to be on the tablets indefinitely. Is 2 capsules a day suitable for acne? Thanks!

Hi Thank you for asking HCM Tetralysal is an antibiotic called Lymecycline of group tetracycline.Acne can be caused by bacteria, mostly propionibacterium acne which is sensitive to this antibiotic. So your doctor prescribed it for that. You can continue the drug as your doctor prescribed. This antibiotic decreases the efficacy of hormonal contraceptive if you are taking that. Those who want to get pregnant now and those who are pregnant should not use this drug.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
