Hi I had sex for the first time 3 days ago and I'm still bleeding a little bit. I'm on the birth control pill and he pulled out. The sex was pretty rough which I'm thinking may be the cause and I'm still a bit sore down there so I'm pretty sure it's vaginal bleeding. Is it normal that I'm still bleeding lightly?
hi. Welcome to HCM. It is normal for some women to bleed after having sexual intercourse for the first time. Bright red in color, the bleeding is caused by stretching of the hymen membrane until it tears. If the bleeding continues, it will turn dark red and trail off until it stops, typically within a few days. U may need doctor consultation if bleeding is significant (is heavier than the first couple of days of her period, is constant, and/or soaks through a tampon and a pad),bleeding persists for more than a week and if there is pain that does not get better. Give time to heal and make sure u dont have any vaginal penetration and orgasm until after the bleeding has completely stopped. If in case u bleed second time then consult a gynaecologist. Wish u good health
