Itchy Inner Elbows With Reddish Bumps, Sudden Weight Loss. Should I Be Worried?

My elbow pits inside of my elbows on both arms have been itchy lately. I m trying to figure out why and what to do about it. From time to time it has small red bumps which almost look like prickly heat. Should I be concerned? I am a 37 year old female. I am in good health and working on losing weight. I currently weigh 215 lbs. in the past 4 weeks, I ve lost 6 lbs.

Hi ,

The itchy lesions could be due to allergy / fungal infections/ heat rash.

You could try applying calamine lotion over the red bumps. Taking an antihistamine orally might help. If there is no improvement in 1-2 days, please visit your dermatologist.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
