Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Shikha Kalra Vij's Response
hello
its a degenerative process and may effect the other knee but it is not related to the left knee
i suggest you to go for isometric exercises and physiotherapy treatment.
we cant stop degeneration as it is age related but we can help you live better and live without pain.
walking is safe,avoid squatting
take care
Yes, your other knee may also get affected in future if your uric acid levels are not maintained. Pain or swelling may increase after cycling or any kind of exercise.
Thanks

You have to maintain your weight as putting on weight will wear out your knees. Also take care not to strain your knees with too much cycling exercise. You should also take care that you walk on flat ground and not steep slope. Check your serum calcium levels, uric acid level and bone densitometry.
Hello Mr.Ghosh;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
At 72 if you are having Osteoarthritis then it is age related and whether it can happen to other knee is difficult to say as the disease is a degeneration of bones and happens related top age.But since till date your other knee has not been affected then i guess you will not get it in the other knee.To prevent and maintain good health you need to take calcium with calcitrol (Shelcal-OS)which will help in good assimilation of calcium in your body.Normally you will be advised to rest the knee but if you walk slowly and at a comfortable pace it will be better for you and even cycling will help to keep the mobility of y6our joint so keep on doing exercise but care should be taken that you are not putting excess of strain because then it may cause injury to the joint.So slow walk;and light exercise will benefit you .
Thanks
