Left Foot And Ankle Hurting For Weeks. Prescribed Ibuprofen. Suggestion?

My left foot and ankle has been hurting for weeks now. It is very painful to walk. I am a big woman at 350lbs so I know part of it is my weight.
I cannot bend my foot or ankle without being in pain. When getting up to walk it takes me a few minutes to get going for even me being able to walk somewhat ok. I am usually grabbing and holding things in my house to keep steady.
I saw my family doctor about 2 weeks ago and he didn't see anything ony X-rays. He ordered me to take 6 Ibuprofen a day and to soak my foot in warm to hot water with Epsom salts. I have been doing all of that and it is still not better. I don't know what to do. All summer I was perfectly fine but this is strange and I am scared what should I do?
