Left Leg Edema With Rash, Soreness And Inner Pain. Skin Above Ankle Feels Stretched. Cure?

Left leg edema accompanied with surface rash and soreness and inner pain, sometimes significant. Swelling started 5 months ago in top of foot-ankle, and crept upward, even beyond knee joint. X-ray of lungs OK, also Cat Scan of torso and MRI of leg. Nothing significant. Circulation to feet very good. Swelling decreases at night but pain increases. Skin around ankle/top of foot often feels stretched . Some of same sensation in right foot (only).

Hi,

Reasons for painful leg swelling are many like Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), sarcomas, lymphoma, aneurysm, hematoma, abscess or cyst(Baker's cyst). DVT is the most common cause and investigation of choice to detect it is venous duplex scan. Hope it helps.

Take Care!
