Ligament Injury In Knee After Hitting Wall, Stitched It. Treatment Enough. Second Opinion Required?
My father is 65 years old & had an accident three days back. While starting his scooter he hit a wall and got injured at knee . he was rushed to hospital & got a general physician. he examined the case & said there was a ligament injury. he stitched the ligament so two tucks inside & 5 tucks out side. The DR said now your father is out of danger. I want an expert opinion on this.

ligaments are thick tough fibrous connective tissue made of collagen which joins bones..
they are very important for bones and joints mobility..
ligaments take a long time to heal,and heal only if given proper rest ,immobilisation and treatment
it is always better to take an expert opinion
so consult an orthopaedician get examined,x ray if required
rule out any severe injury and take proper treatment

Generally, the ligament injuries takes atleast 3 weeks to heal with appropriate management and to return to their pre-injury status.
If your father is able to perform all activities of daily living without any issues after 3 weeks, then there is nothing to worry about.
If he has still any issues left after that period , then an MRI scan of the knee joint may be needed to assess the extent of damage to the ligaments.
Consult an orthopedic surgeon and follow his advice.
