Long Dent, Constriction Running Down Breast, Benign Calcifications Seen. Done Ultrasound. What Could It Be?
I have a long dent/constriction running down the side of my left breast. I went for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound, but nothing was seen. Several large benign calcifications and very dense tissue, but nothing else appeared. Can't think of anything unusual or recent trauma, just appeared about a week ago. Radiologist hadn't seen this before, unsure of what it is. Any insights?
There is a condition known as dytrophic calcification. In this, sometimes fat tissue is able to absorb calcium and will look like what you described. What you can so is to take the report to a surgeon who will be better able to appreciate it. It is most likely to be benign and not significant but it would still be better for you to get a consult. Hope this helps.
