Looked At Welding Arc, Black Dot In Eye, No Pain. Has Any Damage Occurred?
hi don t know if this is a real site but whatever, i accidently looked at welding (arc) directly from about 6ft away for about 0.5 seconds and for about 2 minutes after that i had the tiniest black dot in my eye when i closed my eyes ( about the size of an eye floater ), no hurting of any kind has occured. just curious if any damage has occured.
Hi
Seeing welding arc can lead to a condition called photo ophthalmia where there is damage to the epithelial layer of the cornea. You may put lubricating drops and get your eyes checked. Patching overnight can help resolve the condition, but consultation with an eye specialist is must.
Take care
