Loss Of Appetite, Weak, Trouble Walking. Low BP And Diabetic. Any Suggestion?
My dad is 90 years old and just in the past few days has been confused, trouble walking, very weak and not eating much. Almost like he got dementia over night. His medicine has not changed and he drinks lots of water. He has low blood pressure most of the time and is diabetic (no insulin). We have taken him to his doctor and they checked for infection but did not find any...kidneys are working good and B12 is OK. Any ideas? Thanks
Its very difficult to manage old age patients woth the history of diabetes and associated dieseases.. too much medicines can cause loss of appetite. Most of the anti diabetes medicines can cause gastritis and many gastrointestinal side effects
Secondly consult your doc and try to get treated for associated complications such as gastritis. Thirdly try to supplement with insulin rather than oral drugs..
Thanks
