Hello, thanks for using HCM.
Fever is an elevation of the body temperature as a defense mechanism to fight against harmful affections and it is an indication that the body is having a problem. Fever according to the CDC is considered from a body temperature of 37.8 degree Celsius and its only at a higher temperature of 39 that fever becomes harmful to the body. However, the degree of fever does not necessarily correlate with the severity of the affection. There are various causes of fever including bacterial, viral and parasitic infections, tumors, chronic or systemic inflammatory processes of the body, drugs etc. Also, body temperature may be raised following exercise or
vaccination, wearing of thick dresses etc which are not related to a disease. It is also possible to find body temperature to vary by 1 degree Celsius in normal individuals.
Most viral infections cause low grade fevers and viruses are very much implicated in
enteritis which will manifest as
diarrhea. It might be possible you are suffering from a viral infection of your digestive tract which is adding to your already diagnosed gastro-oesophageal reflux disease that is giving you the
dry cough.
However, only a detail examination and tests will appropriately tell what is the problem and for an effective treatment to be given. You will require test like a stool exam and a
complete blood count to aid in the diagnosis. Meanwhile, take in much fluid ( oral rehydration salt), eat much ripe banana and carrot, avoid oranges and pawpaw and take up food intake.
Best regards
