Lower Abdominal Pain, Light Bleeding. Taking Birth Control Pill, Had Unprotected Sex. Reason?

Hello, I have been on my periods since Thursday and today I experienced very sharp lower abdominal pain when in don t usually have cramps as well as a very light colored blood that did not stick on the tampon . I ve been on birth control for about 2 years and never missed a pill . I had unprotected sex about a week ago but he did not finish inside me could that mean anything? It worries me because it never hurt that much before.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your problem with us.
It is very unlikely to get pregnant if you are regular & punctual with your pills, but no doubt, failures do occur.
Best way to clear your doubts is to have one trans-vaginal ultrasound & a blood pregnancy test ( beta hCG). This will also be helpful to diagnose any other unsuspected Gynecological problem you have.
Wish you good health.
Take care.
