Lower Back Pain And Pins And Needles In Foot. Why? Help?
I am a 35 year old female with lower back pain including occasional pins and needles numbness in areas including my right foot . This back issue also seems to cause my middle back to lock-up, or I have a extremely sharp pain to the point that I can barely move. I also have a large (kind-of deep) indentation, maybe a sacral dimple, that is always causing pain around my lower back. Is this something I should be seen for, or is there not much that can be done?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Ramakant's Response
Dear customer,
You should have the mri scan of the lower back done and get the neurosurgery consultation done. The pinching nerves in the back may be responsible for the underlying cause.
The surgical correction may be required in some cases. The symptomatic treatment can be taken by using pain killers and antiinflammatory drugs like motrin, advil etc.
The ct scan of brain may also be done to rule out any neurological cause in brain by consulting a neurophysician.
The treatmnet depends on the underlying cause.
Thank you
